We enjoy a commission most of all. Reading a block of briar and shaping a pipe to an idea is the best work there is.
We make each pipe to suit. The briar, the shape and the stem all matter. We advise and make what suits the smoker, honestly and without fuss.
We work by hand. Reading and shaping the briar, drilling and finishing the bowl, cutting and fitting the stem, step by step, with care. It is fine, absorbing work, and that is where the difference from a machine-made pipe lies.
